About Dr. Roberto Ruiz

Roberto Ruiz, MD is a Board Certified Physician with over 30 years of professional experience specializing in Internal Medicine and Diabetes Management. He received his Doctor of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1978 and completed his Internship and Residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn, affiliated with Cornell Medical School in 1984. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

In 1984, Dr. Ruiz opened his own practice, Southwest Internal Medicine Group in Phoenix, Arizona serving the general adult population with the primary focus on diabetes and heart/stoke disease management.  He is the Executive Director of the Arizona Diabetes Foundation, an educational website focused in adult pre-diabetes and diabetes management. In addition to being a physician he serves an Assistant Clinical Professor and part of the board committee with various Universities in the State of Arizona.
