The Practice of Roberto Ruiz, M.D., F.A.C.P.
In 1984, Dr. Ruiz opened his own practice, Southwest Internal Medicine Group in Phoenix, Arizona serving the general adult population with the primary focus on diabetes and heart/stoke disease management. He is the Executive Director of the Arizona Diabetes Foundation, an educational website focused in adult pre-diabetes and diabetes management. In addition to being a physician he serves an Assistant Clinical Professor and part of the board committee with various Universities in the State of Arizona.

Echocardiography Laboratory was accredited for 3 years (beginning July 2015) by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

Roberto Ruiz, MD, FACP of Southwest Internal Medicine Group was recognized under the National Committee for Quality Assurance by their Diabetes Physician Recognition Program (DPRP) from 2016-2019.

Roberto Ruiz, MD, FACP of Southwest Internal Medicine Group was recognized under the National Committee for Quality Assurance by their Heart/Stroke Recognition Program (HSRP) from 2016-2019.
This voluntary program is designed to recognize clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular disease and/or stroke and who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes.
